The Morrison Collection is a Mother and Daughter owned art business, showcasing varied types of original hand made art – landscapes/nature, pet portraits, Christmas ornaments, photographs and architectural art.

Mom, Kristin, grew up in an artistic family – her mother was an interior designer and her father was an art director, painter and sculptor. He encouraged Kristin to join him at art fairs, where she sold her drawings for a quarter to customers, thinking that was the life! Her dad also loved nature and photography, so wherever they traveled, he took tons of photos showcasing the beauty of nature, a lesson she took to heart.

In college, Kristin put her drawing skills to work. Her adviser kept asking her to draw posters for campus events - at that point, computer graphics only existed in the movies. Upon graduating, she stumbled into film editing and still found ways to sprinkle in her illustrations for film projects.

​

Then she became a mom and passed her love of art and nature on to her kids. Life got busy, and the sketching slowed down for a while. But after her dad passed away and left behind his gorgeous paintings, Kristin felt inspired to pick up a paintbrush herself. She discovered that she truly loves painting—and that it connects her to her dad’s creative legacy in a really meaningful way.

Her daughter is following her own creative journey.

Daughter, Kylie, grew up surrounded by art. In art shows from kindergarten to senior year of high school, she discovered her true love for art. Whether it was drawing, painting, collaging, or sculpting, it all felt relatively natural, like it was in her DNA! She won awards for various pieces throughout school and is now studying architecture where she can apply her thorough art background into designs.

 

Kylie loves taking photos everywhere she goes - storage is always an issue! Always finding interesting angles in buildings and everyday objects - such as a can opener; her photos help capture the way she sees the world.
